“This, we promise, is the most technical page on our website, and gives an insight into the types of sailcloths we use for our bags and accessories. It also explains a little about the construction of the materials and the companies behind them. Our products are made with genuine new sailcloth material and high tech laminates used to make performance racing sails. These materials are not only incredibly strong and lightweight, but also waterproof, stain resistant and quick drying. Sailcloths are sourced directly from European suppliers, Dimension-Polyant, Challenge sailcloth, Contender,  Kayospruce Ltd and Bainbridge international, whose advanced sailcloth technology is renowned throughout the world.  High tech laminates including GraphX Carbon FibreAramid Flex, Flex-Pen and X-Tech, Kevlar, Mylar and Technora  are used to form the outside of our products. The sturdy, crisp nature of these fabrics softens with use and wear to give each bag an individual appearance over time. All our vibrant coloured sailcloth’s are Fibremax Nylon Spinnaker cloths. This fabric has proven to be "the most durable nylon in the world". It is dipped through a solution of dissolved resin. The resin is then cured at high temperatures. Very small resin particles are embedded in the weave restricting its stretch. The resin weight add on is so slight it is nearly undetectable. These fabrics are normally used for spinnakers, windsurfing and kite-surf.  We generally use these colours for linings and accented features on our bags and accessories.
